You must own or have explicit permission to use location.
Most State Parks allow photography without a permit as long as you do not interfere with normal day-to-day operations.
Certain locations require permits and special permission such as a property release.
Many landmarks require permits and fees to have them in your picture. This may sound unbelievable, but it’s true and you can get in trouble for using these images improperly.
Photo Sessions At Your Home
Advantages of home sessions
- All your clothes are right at hand
- Wardrobe changes keep pictures interesting
- You don’t have to pack for sessions
- Saves you time
Minimum Room Size
- Any average room size will work not using a backdrop
- Minimum room size is 14 ft. x 18 ft. clear floor space if using a backdrop (I have a few and stand)
Add in Some Yard Shots
- Shrubs, walls or fence
- Large grassy areas
- Large porch
- The background in the distance should pleasing (sky, trees, etc.)
- Remove any distracting or unpleasant objects
- Please have your areas ready to go (no time at session)
Backdrop For Photo Sessions
Pictured is the stand and black 10′ wide by 20 long backdrop I use. I also have a 10 x 20 white backdrop. The wrinkles do not show in the final edited photos. Please see the images with black backgrounds in the Fitness Portfolio.
