For your modeling photo session, solid colors and simple clothing are recommended to avoid busy patterns that compete with your face.
Choose something that complements your skin tone and hair color.

My go-to camera for portrait photography is the Canon EOS R6 Mirrorless with EF-EOS R Adapter. It’s a full-frame camera with a high-resolution sensor and a super fast autofocus. I also have a Canon EOS 6D Mark II Digital SLR full-frame camera for backup and nature photography in and around St. Augustine.

For portrait photography I use prime fixed lenses. My first choice is the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Lens. This lens gives me complete control over the light in combination with high speed sync and powerful strobe flashes. If space is tight I will use the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens and for very tight spaces I use the Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art DG HSM Lens

Prime lenses are faster than zoom lenses because they have a wider maximum aperture, which lets in more light. This allows you to use faster shutter speeds and lower ISOs, even in low light conditions. Lower ISO means higher image quality.

Generally speaking, prime lenses produce images with less distortion and chromatic aberration than zoom lenses. This is because prime lenses have a simpler optical design, with fewer lens elements to move and interact with light. Distortion is caused by the way that light bends as it passes through a lens, and chromatic aberration is caused by the different colors of light bending at different angles. Both of these effects can be more pronounced in zoom lenses, which have more complex optical designs.
